I've been noticing more and more ads (especially banners) like this at local Mexican restaurants. The pictures in the background are dominating the body copy. The designer thought if they used an outer glow and drop shadows, that the text would be more noticeable. And boring center alignment.

Yikes! Have a field day with this, everyone. There's PLENTY to comment about on this one.

Wooooooooooooooow I will title this peace (A designers Achilles' heel) They even had the nerve to make an off spring... Hmmmmm. Yellow i the wrong color for this body type. The word Omnibus comes to mind for all the images I see. They used the wrong type face I think. I guess they tried to make it look shopper friendly by having a shopper in the background. The only good thing about this is I draw a blank... I'm horrible for that... LOL
ReplyDeleteOMG... this can be serious. there too much going on it's really hard to read and center (boring) alignment, there is at least 4 different fonts too many colors this ad needs to be redesign. I think it would have work better with less pictures.

i agree with Claudia the center alignment is very boring. since all of the words have a black stroke on them the yellow font kind of gets lost in the background abit as well as the white type on the first one. but i guess they tried to use the drop shadow on the yellow type to make up for that.
ReplyDeleteI find that the woman's head popping out of nowhere to be really offputting and freaky. It doesn't make me want to shop there at all. The center alignment doesn't make it interesting or draws in the reader. The colors are too wacky and makes it difficult to read the text and the text on the red and blue bars are placed too high. I don't know why there's a black shadow figure on the first one, that's just creepy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Angela. The woman's head popping up behind the text is weird. It looks like its resting on it. I noticed that both of the ads use red, white, and yellow colors for their type along with a ton of effects. The photos used are cluttered and distracting.
ReplyDeleteThe ads overall make me not want to even consider going there.
