I was reminded of the different type faces and what orphans and widows were.
ReplyDeleteI also learned that there is really a wide variety of things that graphic designers can do just by listening to what Mr. Low was saying about his job.
I also learned the difference between, stationary and stationery. Pretty interesting in a way.

I also learned that having two professors teaching one class is the coolest thing ever.
I learned that being a graphic designer/lead designer is perhaps the best career ever, because we take the use our skill of combining text w/ pictures and create the next big thing.
I learned how much fun graphic designers will have more fun than most people with other careers.

A third thing that I've learned was the spelling and the meaning of stationery meaning office supply and stationary meaning staying in one place.

3 things I learned last week...
ReplyDelete1) using a penny and only a penny is kinda hard to design with...it had me thinking for a while before I started to trace the penny.
2) Talon Marks has a lot of rivers, widows and orphans.
3) it is hard to tell the difference between a word in large type size and slab serif.

ReplyDeleteI learned that I needed a refresher on graphic design vocabulary.
I learned that taking lettering and typography is going to be extremely helpful for this class.
I also learned making a design using only the shape of a penny is a lot harder than it sounds.
I learned what a river is in typography and the difference between kerning and leading. I also learned that taking Lettering and Typography will prove itself to be a great asset in this class.
